Hi Martin,

STAY!

As you stated, this is an MT63 group - NOT olivia.

While I don't post much I do read most messages. It appears that a
serious attempt has been made at hijacking the group in a bid to
exclude MT63 from the digital scene.

Let those who want to experiment with olivia go and form a group
somewhere else. Anybody who has an interest in both can then join both
groups. Those who have an interest in only one can join the relevant
group.

As for those that wish to discuss ARRL emergency comms and the ideas
of 20kHz (??) bandwidth they can go form another group, stop the
pie-in-the-sky dreams and form SERIOUS suggestions that the ARRL MAY
wish to put to a future WARC and get a standard around the world
instead of a USA only backdoor big signal system.

As for MT63, well in the UK the NCRC - North Cheshire Radio Club -
have been doing a few tests on (most) Sunday nights by putting the
RSGB news out on 160M.

We now have most of the antennas up and the interfaces are built to
test a simultaneous multiband transmission on 160M, 40M, 20M,6M an
possibly 60M - this last may need specific MOD approval.

These tests are being run by Alaster M1DFO and Gordon G3LEQ with input
from other club members and help from various stations around the UK.

Listen in on Sunday night and see if you can copy it.

Let everybody remember that this is a HOBBY. By all means experiment -
isn't that what the licence is about? BUT do NOT force your ideas on
others. If you want a Professional emergency network then use the
APPROPRIATE frequencies - NOT amateur frequencies - for testing and
real action. In the event of a disaster - such as a hurricane - an
amateur will use whatever band s/he can get out on and such power as
available. This does not mean that a 20kHz block needs to be detailed.

Last of all - Keep this group for MT63.
