Another alternative -- the reason for editing the registry is to avoid
doing a full install of Cygwin... if you wanted to actually install
cygwin, its install will take care of that by itself. You don't need
to install the entire enviroment unless you really want to -- it has
compilers for several languages, etc. -- just the basic DLL and the
ncurses-8 package.
I'm hoping it will be appearing in more Windows-user-friendly programs
soon.
