Thank you for reading this bulletin !!!
The name here is Joe VK5RQ @ VK5RQ.#SYP.#SA.AUS.OC, i run a PACTOR into VHF
PACKET BBS in VK5, and so far is going well, I am using the MSYS
Program.
As we can see there is lot of other stations using a similar set up, with
the WINLINK Program, which i forward mail into and receives mail from those
stations with the winlink set up, and they go well together, with every now
and then a minor cliche, probably due to propagation, but that is not much to
worry about...
Now the only problem i get with winlink stations that they are as MBO or BBS
is,if they try to connect into the MSYS PACTOR BBS via just the Keyboard as
users,then what msys dose,just throw them out after a while,(disconnect them).
Now they keep blaming MSYS,and i say that there is nothing wrong with
MSYS,and there is nothing to alter to it,i say that the problem is in the
WINLINK software...You may ask why you saying that !!!, I am saying that
because, i done lots and severe testing, by connecting to my self, on the
Pactor mode, using another TNC another Radio with a dummy load with 5 watts
only,on both systems so the transmission will not go out on air, because i
was using some of the WINLINK MBO's callsigns just to see if MSYS have a
problem...
The Answer is No !! MSYS performed ok, by using several programs, and using
some of the winlink MBO's call's connecting to the same PACTOR BBS VK5RQ...
Program i used are....
PACTERM, PAKET 6, HM2PLUS, XPKAM, all those programs went well, but only if
someone connects with WINLINK we are getting that problem...
So please someone tell me where is the problem then, if just WINLINK only
have that problem,where all the other programs do not....
Also i can connect with a WINLINK MBO. from MSYS keyboard, with no problems,
but the other way round it can not be done...Now we are talking WINLINK MBO's
and MSYS PACTOR/MBO's call them what you like...
I see it, that WINLINK is sending something to MSYS as a BBS/MBO connect,
while the station is trying to use winlink, just like a normal multy mode
program, I know that WINLINK to WINLINK Keyboard is ok,then same as MSYS to
MSYS keyboard is ok, and MSYS to WINLINK keyboard is ok, so why WINLINK to
MSYS keyboard dose not work, again my judgment is again that there is
something to be altered in WINLINK, and it is no good, anyone tell me, " BUT
WINLINK GOES OK, WITH FBB " Well MSYS is also go well with FBB and most of
the other BBS programs, But we are talking PACTOR to PACTOR, not Pactor MBO
into VHF PACKET...
I hope someone comes up with the solution... ( NOTE THERE IS NOTHING TO BE
ALTERED OR CHANGED IN THAT RESPECT IN THE MSYS PROG AS I SEE IT)
