Gee you're a pessimist Warren.I can't see the same conditions as in the
Great Depression occurring again. I think we have learnt something since
those days. We are much wealthier - nearly all of us, and the welfare
state looks after the unfortunate.You must remember that the Great War of
1914-18
drained the Allies and destroyed Germany economically so that country
cannot be used as a valid exapmle of the sufferings of WW1.We control
inflation which is about 4% here but falling according to a report
tonight.
Budgeted for 3.25% according to the Hon Treasurer.Unemployment in my state
is at an all time low at about 2%.
The railway people did nothing like that here. If they had they would have
been up for assault.It is a serious offence.
