Hi Bob
Here in South Africa your Holdens are sold as Chevrolet and yes, your
Fords as well. They do not sell many because of our high petrol/gas
prices.
The Corollas and VW Golf being assembled here is exported to Aus. I
beleive your country stopped importing the Mercedes from SA and are now
importing direct from Germany.
A lot of cars are imported from Europe and are very expensive regarding
spares etc. The trade-in prices for these are really low.
Here Toyota has a big following as they are overall very reliable but even
their parts do not come cheap. It is difficult to compare prices with
other countries as you need to compare apples with apples. exchange rate.
