Hi Peter and all,
I just got back from the Englishtown NJ Auto Show 2001 in my modified
Delorean and saw the Bricklen in all it's glory. Somehow the two are
remarkably similar but the Brick has sleeker lines particularly the nose.
I had a drippy sun roof once, some silicone sealant took care of it but
it never opened again, no big deal. My AMC Hornet hatchback got the same
treatment but nothing could be done about the body, it looked like it was
blessed by the Pope. Real POS the AMC anything and the worst was mine, a
1976 which was the worst year for American cars in general (Motors).
(;->) You think they'd have taken pride in the Bicentennial Year but no,
every rairoad had locomotives done up in red, white and blue but Detroit
was done up in grey. Oh never mind the Dodge, it was worse but it proved
one thing, you can't kill a Chrysler slant six. It had a blown head
gasket so I had to 50s retrofit the pollution controls (;->) just so it
wouldn't choke on itself and the darn thing actually passed inspection.
It looked like the engine was on fire and stank like hell but it PASSED!
Oh, it made a nice home for a family of mice but that's another story.
I wonder how Delorean managed with those hydraulic door tensioners, the
AMC had the heaviest hatch on the planet. I guess the good ones were made
in Ireland, but a lot of good stuff comes from Ireland including people
with a musical accent and an odd pronunciation.
Never mind the Woolsley (Wooly Bully?) police car, my friend's sister
went straight for the Austin Healey covertable. She was a fox of the 20th
Century kind, scarf flowing out behind in the breeze, Austin Powers
following by radar, the whole nine yards. I was going to say something
about his engine throwing a rod but I won't.
Right, I'd never buy a Senior Burger just on the name of it, I can only
imagine what goes into one and I'd rather imagine something else.
WARNING! If you're ever down this way again DO NOT EVER eat a White
Castle hamburger! Just watching them on a steam grille with those five
holes filling in with goo is enough to turn your stomach, we don't call
them belly bombs for nothing. Well, maybe if you're constipated... just
don't mind the cramps and a sudden violent expulsion.
On to better things, today I'm packing essentials for tomorrow's move and
expect to spend a few days in recovery. Then I come back over the next
week or so picking up the rest of the junk, meanwhile the phone and
Internet servise gets switched so it won't be long before I disappear and
pop up again from the new QTH. Guys, don't think you can get away with
talking behind my back, everything you say will be right here waiting for
me on the BBS when I return. (;->)
