I like a point Pete made in his bull to this topic:

I like that idea, it seems to me that just a modification and scaling up
of the KERS(Kinetic Energy Recovery System) used in F1 racing cars for the
last few years, could pruduce an all electric car. They aleady only have
pit stops to change tyres, not refuel so why not an advanced battery on
the KERS unit and no fuel at all ?
