Hi Pete. I hope you are feeling a bit better.
As for politics, I usually leave it alone because we all only seem to know
who is in charge of our own countries and nothing about the rest.
The bull I put out concentrated mainly on Europe. I have heard a lot of
what is going on over there especially over the last few months.
Most voters just can't find a party they trust so they go to an extreme. I
was a left wing Labour voter for most of my life until the party decided
to become more right wing and become morelike he US Democratic party which
is right wing by our standards. It began to support big business over the
needs of the hard working lower classes. That is why we have a strange,
coalition government because no one party got a clear majority. People
were voting for the Greens and UKIP which is a sort of "Lets get out of
Europe" Party as well as a lot of independents. I went full right and
voted for the British national Party which is gaining a little power. Not
like the Frant Nationale, it's French equivalent which has a lot of power
and nearly got their first president this time. It is not all over and it
is very possible that the French will go socialist on May 6th.
Several countries are right wing and, as I mentioned, a couple look like
going Communist.
What won't get across the Atlantic is that many people in th UK are
relying on free food charities to stay alive and I mean people who are
working, not the unemployed.
What is the answer ? I just don't know. It is a fair bet that 'The Land of
the Free' is suffering the same problems but keeping quiet about it.
As for who will win the American elections, I have no strong feelings.
Let's face it, I have to struggle to remember the name of our Prime
Minister and that is a new one for me !
