I would doubt very much whether we will be dependent on oil at or beyond
the end of the century, Barry. Most of the manufacturers of cars are
turning to electric cars already with Ford, Toyota and other major
manufacturers already producing them, and I have no doubt that this will
continue at increased pace until by 2017 the number of electric vehicles
on the road will be over taking oil product powered machines..
I think I have something better to do than to worry my head about whether
we will have oil in 2112. If I last that long I will be approaching 190
years of age and would have long gone to a gopher.. I have said before
that man is the most adaptable of animals and I have no doubt he (or she
Angela) will find a way round the problem.
I have also said that pessimism is our worst enemy and I would not put
much trust in a document leaked to a French newspaper.
By the way the hydrogen powered buses are going strong with London putting
them on the road now. They are used in many countries now. Maybe they are
the way after all for people movers.
Cheers,
Bob VK6BE.
