Let me spell it out Warren, you keep harping on things Australian that
indicate you are talking about things that you know little about. No it
was not obvious.
No we don't call them shrimps either. We call them prawns. Shrimps are the
tiny little ones that are too small to be very attractive for eating.We
used to catch shrimps in the river where I lived when I was about 10 years
old. We threw in a brick with barbed wire trailing from it and pulled it
out and picked the shrimps from the weed that came up.The prawn fishermen
in Onslow where the prawns are processed call them prawns too.As I said
don't take Croc Dundee as an authority; he's a comedian and many
Australians shudder when he starts up with his exaggerated ocker accent.
Any salties that come up the rivers would have to be in the north and I
mean the north, the extreme north..
Be careful that croc doesn't bite you.
