Hi Paul and all,

I'm rather at a loss in what you say since it's unclear and not the way
either of us learned it. If I had some idea what they mean by "secondary
fuel cell" it might sit better, then maybe not. The way I learned it is a
primary cell generates electricity from a chemical reaction and a
secondary cell uses two reactions (charge and discharge) to store it...
right? IMO fuel cell and secondary cell are a contradiction in terms.

Right, gel batteries are finicky things, I never got one to last as long
as I'd like. Most are those 12V 7.5AH "bricks" but one year I spotted a
100AH NIB monster at a hamfest and after considerable struggle used it as
backup power for the shack. I don't know where I go wrong but I never get
more than a couple of years out of these things. Then again I know your
secret, a solar charger is a "smart" charger and it can outhink either of
us. (;->)

You remember correctly, there was an experiment with rats that proved the
balance between resources and p[opulation. Farmers in Australia have
their own proof, every so many years the mouse population explodes and
they destroy grain crops and storage. The plague ends as quickly as it
began when grain supplies are exhausted and little bodies cover the
ground like a furry carpet. That's when big holes and Diesel come into
play or there would be a plague of another sort to contend with.

"Have you got the bunker ready?"
And they cried unto the mountains saying fall on us and protect us from
the wrath of the Lamb.
Nah, look for the candle I'll light as a beacon.
