Right on Ian. There are a considerable number of houses in this state
which have sprouted solar cell generators on their roofs. The Government
subsidises these installations and the surplus power generated by them
passes into the grid and is credited to the owner. We are running out of
oil? I think by the time we do oil fuel products will be a thing of the
past. The motor car industry is gearing up for it with electric cars and
fuel cell vehicles and the technology will improve.
Wherever you travel in this state you can see solar panels. Rural
telephone exchanges, microwave links, harbour beacons, aero drome lights and
beacons, in the north of this state even the street lights on the corner
of the Shark Bay turn off are powered by solar panels. Before I get picked
up on that remark let me assure the critics that there is battery power
used, charged by the panels.Should not have needed to add that bit but you
know why..
Windfarms are appearing near very major rural city, Albany, Esperance,
Geraldton.I don't know about the other states but I doubt whether they
will have been left behind.
Now I have not made this up. Anyone can drive round this state and see for
themselves.
Cheers,
Bob VK6BE.
