Hey Warren, fair go! I know you don't listen to me; that is obvious, BUT I
didn't deny anything. I said WAIT! That's a four letter word. WAIT till
the fat female warbles and she has not come on stage yet. The curtain is
down and the pianist is having a nap.WAIT I said.
As far as building pipelines is concerned it would be one heck of a
project building a pipeline around 2000 km long to feed a small
population of at the most one hundred thousand people with petrol
remembering that the refinery is at Fremantle and the p[ipeline wold have
to go north to PH and south to Albany. Natural gas is piped to Perth and
Bunbury but it comes from the Dongara region which is a mere 350 km and
which feeds natural gas to a population of about 2 million with all points
down to Bunbury on the pipeline.. Different picture altogether. There was
talk of extending the gas pipeline to Albany from Bunbury but at the time
it was the lead up to an election and as usual the project has been
mothballed.
I mentioned wave power generation and the talk of trying it in this state.
Well on the news tonight was a story that a company has been given the go
ahead and the first wave generator which will feed a few thousand homes
will be built west of Garden Island, where the waves start from Africa and
the swell is large. Again it is experimental and another fat lady will
need to sing when the trial has run its course.
Coal? Ours is not anthracite which is found in the eastern states, ours is
poor quality black coal and the green faction is howling loudly for use of
it to cease in favour of alternative renewable energy. How this can be
done at the scale needed they don't say.
Our LPG is carried by road tanker in bottles for domestic use and from a
large fuel tanker into bowsers for autogas in the same way as petrol is
carried. Some places such as Albany has reticulated gas whereby the
tankers discharge LPG into the storage facility which pipes it into our
homes..
Malthus? Interesting guy. We dealt with him in university economics 1.
The Malthusian theory. Look it up. He was wrong of course.
