Gail Tverberg has written an article on the Energy Bulletin that is very
well worth the time to read. It starts with the fundermentals and ends
with the economic impacts. These are particually US related but to a
large extent we are all in the same boat.
There are a large number of graphs which is why I have not loaded it up
here.

There has very recently reported in the UK newspaper The Guardian that
two whistleblowers employed at the International Energy Authority have
claimed that that organisation has been fudging the future production
figures to suit the US government. The reason given is prevent a Wall St
panic if the thruth were known.

Additionally Prof Aklett of Upsalla University states that a meeting at
the IEA he was told in confidence that the figures were padded.
This is all pretty serious stuff as governments rely on the IEA for their
future planning.

Well, don't just take my word for it, research it yourself.
