I have been reading a few bulls about running cars on water and improving
peerformance.

Here is my 2 pennorth:

One of the running on water systems that I heard about many years ago was
the one which used a tablet of a light metal such as sintered sodium which
produces hydrogen in water. We probably all saw the demonstration in high
school science where a little piece of sodium, stored in oil would zoom
around a petri dish of water, furiously giving off hydrogen gas. Other
elements do this in a much more explosive way!

Your tank is presurised and your engine runs on hydrogen.

As for an increase in power. The following is something I atually did
myself. As a teenager I had a 50cc NSU Quickly m/cycle and noticed that it
ran far better in fog and damp air than in dry air, so I rigged up a
device to sqirt a fine mist directly into the carburreter. I don't know
about fuel consumption but I got about a 50% increase in speed.

I later read that other people had noticed this phenomenon long before me
and prototype cars were made using just that principle. This increased
power and improved fuel consumption. There was some mention of aero
engines
using this technique.

What happened to these prototypes is anyone's guess.

Itdoes sound like what VK6BE describes.

Perhaps all you folk with broadband can check it out on the 'net ?
