No, remote locking devices are digitally encoded RF like garage door
openers. Right, someone with perfect pitch surely can access repeaters by
whistling the tone like some Phone Phreaks could access LD by whistling
the line idle tone. It was extremely difficult to whistle 2600Hz until
the makers of Captain Crunch cerial packed the famous Crunch whistle in
the box, the story is legendary. We'd have fun and games on the street
with it, pass by someone using a pay phone and whistle, often the line
would disconnect. Speaking of 2M, car alarms are RF sensitive. More fun
and games driving down a street with more than a dozen of them with the
transmitter keyed on an unused out of the way frequency.
