Hi and a HAPPY NEW YEAR to you and yours.
As the MUF goes up I have wanted to start using my old MFJ 1278 on the higher
High freq. bands. I have tried everything from good earthing systems to going
to the other end of the shack with the tnc and computer but still multi
multi QRM on the bands above 20 meters. The higher I go the worse it gets.At 29
Mhz. FM the noise is 5x9++. I have changed computers and tranceivers but still
no go....the same. The only thing that does stop the Noise is turning OFF the
MFJ 1278.
I know the MFJ series is RENOUND for its noise so has anyone else found the
same problem and if so IS THERE A CURE. By the way I have disconnected all the
LEDS on the front and as I found in the past you get the occasional noisey LED
but it didnt do any good. The TNC also works well on 2 METERS and above with NO
NOISE at all.
                      Yours Desperate RON VK3ZJ@VK3BLW
