Hi Andrew and readers,
Nobody ever said it wouldn't work, I simply classed it with a
non-resonant random wire you just happened to mount vertically. Of course
it's "not the loudest signal in the world", you're station ID isn't Radio
Canada. (Actually the loudest is The Voice Of Russia.) Still you can do
MUCH better with a resonant antenna and a vertical has a low takeoff
angle so it's good for DX as well as regional daytime coverage.
