Exactly the same in the UK.
Smoking in cars is banned if they are used for work and also hire cars.
Dropping a cigarrette end on the floor is open to a UKP 75 fine,
Even bus shelters, open on three sides is banned though it is like being
outside.
The government is planning further measures but we are not sure what yet.
I know you agree with it but, when you add in the fact that we are all
watched by CCTV it makes us seem more and more like a police state, in
fact that is part of the reson why over 6m people have emigrated this
century, Mainly to Canada and Australia.
The other reason for Brits emigrating is the laws against using words
which might offend 'ethnic minorities'. Thes 'crimes' draw a fine of up to
UKP 5000, so much for freedom of speech even though we have the Human
Rights Act, article 10 of which allows freedom of expression.
