The last stats I heard from insurance companies was that, on average men
die at 79, women at 82.
That was some time ago. Over the last 10 years I seem to have run into
more people who are over 100, drinking and smoking in pubs until the
government banned it. Most of these were women. Perhaps men don't make a
big deal about passing the 'ton'. I just don't know.
As for me, I will hit the 'three score and ten' in one month. I have
disabilities, none serious, and all caused by accidents.
Unless I walk under a bus, I expect to hit the ton and get my telegramme
from the Queen. I heare she has them mass produced by now and some people
have several. She could be gone by then but her mother reached 103 so,
maybe not.
