They can be used with dimmers but the dimmers will not work. I have my
lounge room light using fluoro (low energy) lights and I left the dimmer
in place on the wall switch. If you check the wave form put out by the
dimmer you will see why they don't work with the economy lamps but do
work with the incandescent.
