4° MEMBERS TROPHY

The MDXC, seen the success got in the past edition, to celebrate the growing
presence of our Club in the world, overtaking the number of 500 members,
presents the “Members Trophy – edition 2009ö.
Aim of this Trophy, open to all OM and SWL of the world, is to contact/heard
the largest number of MDXC Members and the Special Event Stations (among these
also the Headquarter Station MDXC: IQ8MD).

Date – The Trophy is programmed on 16, 17 May 2009 (00.01 UTC of 16until 24.00
UTC of 17).
Categories: a1) MDXC Stations, SSB mode; a2) MDXC Stations, Mixed Mode; b1)
Not-MDXC Stations, SSB Mode; b2) Not-MDXC Stations, Mixed Mode; c) MDXC Special
Event Stations (Mixed Mode only); d) SWL (Mixed Mode only)
Points - Each QSO with Not-MDXC Stations counts 1 point. Each QSO with MDXC
Stations counts 2 points. Each QSO with MDXC Special Event Stations counts 3
points. Each QSO with IQ8MD (Headquarter Station MDXC) counts 5 points. Each
Station can be contacted once per band and once per mode.
Reports: The MDXC Stations will give RS(T) + their Membership Number, preceeded
by the letter “Mö (e.g. 59-M040), Not Members will transmit the RS(T) + a
serial number starting with 001, the MDXC Special Event Stations and the
Headquarter Station will transmit only the RS(T). For SWLs the ‘callsign of
station being worked’ may not appear more than three consecutive times. There
must be at least one other QSO before a series of one to three callsigns is
repeated.
Multipliersi: Each MDXC Member and each Special Event Station will count 1
multiplier regardless the bande and the mode.
Final score: the sum of the points multiplied the sum of the multipliers.
Bands ande Modes - HF only, from 10 m to 80 m, WARC excluded, Modes: SSB,
CW/Digitals. Call SSB: CQ MDXC TROPHY. Call CW/Digital: CQ MDXC.
Prizes – First 3 operators wit best score for categories a1, a2, b1, b2 e d,
and the best Special Event Station (category c) will be awarded.
Award- Reaching 300 points, and at least twenty (20) of them coming from QSOs
with MDXC Members, applicants can apply for a Special Award. No applications
containing only QSOs with Special Event Stations, without QSOs with MDXC
Members will be accepted. Application forms and logs, and a fee of 15 Euro,
must be sent to the Members Trophy Manager:

QSL Cards – For all Special Event Stations a special QSL card will be printed.
To get it, no request is necessary: all QSOs with S.E.S. will be automatically
confirmed via the Bureau.
Direct requests for QSL cards must be sent to the Manager IK2VUC only.
Logs – The log-deadline is established at June 20th 2009, the logs must be
mailed to the Manager’s address or emailed to: ik2vuc@aribusto.it. S.E.S must
send ther logs in ADIF format only, or they will be excluded from the
standings.
Other stations can use the ADIF, DBF or Excel format for logs sent via e-mail,
printed TXT, for logs sent via normal mail. Incomplete logs will be cancelled
from the standings. (Logs must contain Call, Date, UTC, Band in meters, Mode,
Complete Report, sent and given). Example:

Received logs will be shown in the Web page dedicated to the trophy once
received.
Special Event Stations – The S.E.S. can operate as single or multi-operator,
each multi-operator team will have no more than three operators (license owner
plus two other operators). All S.E.S. operators cannot take part to the Trophy
with their own callsigns, and cannot make QSO and send reports with other
callsigns except the Special Callsign they are using in this Trophy, or their
stations will be disqualified. Each S.E.S. will be in competition only with
other S.E.S. regardless the composition of the teams (single or
multi-operator). Multi-multi are not allowed, only one TRX per team will be
allowed.
N.B. – Money sent to claim the Awards will be used to pay the Awards and the
QSL cards. In case the amount of the expenses will be less than the collected
money, the rest will be used, as usual, to sponsor further IOTA and DX
activities.
