I have heard this said before a couple of years ago. Why it is dredged up
on packet again I wouldn't know.
I am a member of the WIA and NEVER have I heard any suggestion from that
body that Region One be deprived of part of 7 mHz. There may have been a
suggestion from some of the Australian bureaucrats attending the
Conference.
I would suggest that there might be better things to remember than that
incident which did not result in any action anyway. And don't blame
Australian amateurs for it; they didn't make the suggestion.
Why don't you raise a memorial, Andy, to keep the memory alive?

whole of IARU Region 1 gaining access to the 7.100 - 7.200MHz segment,
thankfully defeated!).
