Well thanks Kate for the simple and fast response to my question.
That explains it then.
For info in europe there were commercial stations all over the 80m
band in europe, but we were still allowed to use the band so long as
we didn't tx on top of them.
Maybe VK's couldn't be trusted not to :-)
