It is not just pork that is 'unclean'. Any animal without a cloven hoof is
also banned. We are still getting many reports about how horse meat has found
it's way into various foods. The latest is jelly and sweets as they are made
from gelatine which comes from hooves, some of whichare horses.

The strange thing is that non of the TV reports mention the religious reasons
for the problems with horse meat. Perhaps they are afraid of upsetting
Muslims, Jews and certain devout christians, Instead, they are making a big
deal out of horsemeat being treated with various chemicals which could harm
humans, They carefully ignore the fact that cows are treated with growth
hoemones and other chemical agents,,.
