Hi Ian and all,

Goulash seems to be a collection of leftovers, another peasant dish that
varies by location. Seems when mum discovered her un-named Pennsylvania
Dutch concoction lacked paprika she added it and called it Hungarian. She
made quite a few PA Dutch dishes, all having Eastern European origins but
I didn't know her pickled red cabbage was called borsht, I forgot the
German name. Yeah, you can leave the vinegar out and call it soup and
then there are those fancy French names for peasant food just so it can
be served in a high priced restaurant to skyscraper nose snobs. Oh, had
you noticed that expert chef Captain Bligh of the kitchen wouldn't know
good food if one of his assistants dumped it over his head?
