Yes, Dave is right, peak food is a real problem.
The main part of the problem is the cost of food.
With ethanol producers competing with  food producers the price of grains has
risen to levels where the poorer countries cannot afford enough to eat.

There are fertiliser problems also.

There is a lot of information  on this problem and a substantial  amount from
the UN food organisation which has expressed its concern.

This problem of diversion from food to fuel is alread causing starvation.

The latest madness  comes from the  US government that  is mandating a  large
increase in ethanol production. There have  already  been  food  riots  in  a
number of countries directly caused by diversion to fuel.

It will only get worse.
