Eldred's Chocolate Droppings !
Ingredients:
1 slab white COOKING chocolate
1 slab brown COOKING chocolate
1 x large packet Rice Krispies
(Cooking chocolate is less sweeter than normal chocolate and melts better)
1 x large cooling tray (no need to be grease proofed)
1 large dessert spoon
Method:
First break the desired chocolate colour slab into pieces about 50mm
square and melt in the MICROWAVE for two minutes !
Remove the cooking vessel, stir well and return to the microwave oven for
another two minutes and continue till all the chocolate has melted.
Tip: Don't try and melt all the chocolate on max heat for one long
stretch. This is because the centre of the cooking vessel will cook and
see heat differently to the edges, and certain areas of the chocolate will
either burn or become lumpy. The best and safest method, is to melt it in
stages as explained above.
Once the chocolate has melted, stir in the Rice Krispies taking note that
all the Rice Krisppies are thinly covered individually in chocolate. Too
much Rice Krispies will result in a too thin layer and to little Rice
Krispies will be too heavily covered…..just judge yourself !
Now scoop out a healthy spoonful and deposit the contents on the cooling
tray.
Tip: work quickly as the cooking chocolate has a tendency to set quickly.
Continue till the vessel is empty.
If you find you have some left over in the vessel, and no cooling tray,
then quickly wipe with a DAMP cloth a work-surface, and deposit the
mixture on there.
In seconds all the Droppings will be set and with a little gentle nudge
and prising with a table knife, the Droppings will leave the work surface.
To release those in the cooling tray, simply bend the cooling tray
slightly.
Enjoy !
