Hello everybody,
Can someone tell me, how to connect the TM-G707 via its DATA connector
to a normal Packet TNC ?
It seems to me the KENWOOD engineers try to redefine packet TNCs...
- First I was puzzled by the lack of a PTT or key line. After
some experiments, I found that you can use the line they call
PKS (for packet standby). The explanation of that signal in the
handbook is just made to mislead everybody !
- Then I observed that my TNC was unable to decode the received
NF signal. Why ? The NF output of the PR1/PR9 lines is defined
with 500 mV pp, but with an output impedance of 10'000 Ohms !
So you connect the 100 Ohm input of a standard TNC, and your signal
is already down to a mere 5 mV, which seems to be way below what
the TCM 3105 needs.
I think I must get the NF from the speaker output, and the DATA
port cannot be used.
Anyone who is successfully using the DATA port ? How ???
Vy 73 and thanks for reading
