Thank you for reading this bulletin..
I wonder if anyone out there, using the KAMPLUS with V8.0 EPROM, and the MSYS
BBS on TOR MODE "AMTOR PACTOR and GTOR, have found the solution or the
problem, from the KAM locking up...
I have been running this system for the past 4 weeks, i knew with the problem
that is happening to all who try to run it as such..
But i had to give it a try to believe it..I heard rumors that with the V8.0 it
goes ok, at this stage it is not thru, it locks up just as bad as with the
V7.1,others blame the MSYS program, in my opinion, it is not the MSYS program
that is causing it,i say is the KAM..
Now you ask how you know..
Well here is my tests for the past 2 years since the Gtor and TOR mode in the
KAM came out...
I tried to run just the TOR STBY MAILBOX with ARQBBS on, using the program
HM2plus, it used to lock up then, I used a program PACKET 6.2 on TOR STBY
with the ARQBBS on, it used to lockup then !!
Now i tried the MSYS program and it is just as bad, it still locks up,
Now another thing i found out,and that why i blame that there is a fault
in the KAM, that it has to be rectified by the KAM makers KANTRONICS..
That if you have a lock up, all you have to do is to switch off the kam from
the front panel, count about 20,then put it on again, and away you go,it will
go ok, but, who is going to sit infront of the kam 24 hours a day and every
time the KAM locks up, hit the switch of and on..
It is absolutely a stupid way to have a full BBS on the TOR mode and VHF..
So i do not know what to say..
I like to hear from others that are experience or experienced the same
problem, and if they think that the fault is the KAM's ? not the software
that is being used, wether is HM2PLUS, PACKET 6.2 or MSYS..then we may get
something done by the manufacturer of the TNC..
