Transceiver Kenwood TM451 and Kantronics KPC9612 on 9600 Bauds.
---------------------------------------------------------------
WHO has successfully experienced both KPC 9612 and TM 451 E ?
I've purchased those rigs because they are designed to work at
9600 bps.
After having set up lots of experiments sessions, my friend
ON5MO and myself ARE NOT CONVINCED they really work at that
speed.
If we succeed in making a link quite easily between us, the
transfer of files at 9600 bps takes practically the same
time as at 1200 bps. Amazing isn't it !
Last test:10 minutes for a file of 25 Kb on 9600 Bauds and
7 minutes for the same file on 1200 Bauds !!
We both have turned the KPC 9612 until having the sharpest
settings and we modified several soft parameters in order
to improve the transfer speed BUT unsuccessfully until now.
If you are a KPC 9612 and TM 451 E user, we would be very
interested in having your own opinion. Could we know about
your personal settings, parameters and soft used ?.
If you please, just drop a line to ON5YO @ ON1KGX.HT.BEL.EU
With our thanks in advance for your reply.
Best of 73's from Andre (ON5MO @ ON1KGX.HT.BEL.EU )
