Hi Kobus and all,
"There is mention of 19200...HOW?
The answer is simple, you answered your own question actually.
"I could read the ...manual..."
THAT'S HOW!
"...I don't understandAX25."
MOST of us don't, it's only one of many digital communications protocols,
it doesn't matter.
"I am a user and don't really have an interest in HOW the insides work."
Welcome to the club.
"Maybe Kantronics should write a condensed version..."
They already have, it's called the index.
Now stop doing it the hard way (via packet) when you have the best "how
to" right at your finger tips. Look up what you want in the index and go
straight to the section indicated and it will answer your question in a
comprehensive manner. After all you DID say "comprehensive" so it should
tell you everything you need to know to make the unit operate in the
manner you want it to.
