Hello out there,
I want to make a survey about the KPC9612P version 8.1 revision 97
of people that have or have had this TNC of the Kantronics
I have a problem with 2 units that I bought ago approximately
2 year +/-, my problem is that after a time the port of 9600
it is inoperative the PTT is always in ON but there is not any problem in the transistor
of the switching neither in the IC that drives to this transistor, I sent my comments
to the manufacture (kantronics) that if is it a bug in this unit and them responded me
that not, it could be bad connection I commented them that it was not possible bad connection
since these units were working for a period of 3 or 4 months without problem,
after a time began the problem that the port of 9600 when
it went a connection the PTT goes ON continually to the air until the the watchdog it mades the
timeout and the radio stopped to transmit but the red LED of the TNC continued ON
it only went out if i sent a reset if I were in the terminal, and the remote one making it
a OFF/ON,
What I want is to know if somebody of you there outside had a similar problem same the mine
to be able to determine if it is a bug or some faulty component that it comes from
manufacture, I suspect the problem maybe it comes from the IC regulator of voltage of 5 volts.
But I would like to know yourr opinions about this matter.
