Title : HARD RESET SWITCH MOD
I had enough of lockups that required me to do a hard reset of the KAMPLUS.
I took it apart enough times. It's mounted in my mobile, where I operate
a full-service VHF/HF crossband node from local LANs to NETWORK 105 on
14.105 with 600 watts of packet power. Enough was enough. So what I did
was mount a tiny PBNO pushbutton thru the back panel from Radio Shack, my
electronic 7-11 store. The wires from the switch are soldered to the pins
of P6, the test/operate jumper located near the processor, left side,
behind the big chips. The procedure for a reset now are...
Turn the unit off.
Boot Pacterm so I can see it happen in 1200 baud.
Press and hold the button while turning the unit on.
See the pretty test data on the screen.
Still holding the button down, turn the unit off and release the button.
Boot Hostmaster again and turn the KAMPLUS back on.
Click on Hostmaster's autospeed button when it bombs booting up.
Wait for Hostmaster to find the message and send it's * to lock the
terminal speed....all done.
NO DISMOUNTING, NO DISASSEMBLING, NO SCREWS, NO TAKING ALL THE SCREWED ON
CONNECTORS OFF, NO FRAYED NERVES JUST BECAUSE IT LOCKED UP. EASY!
Now, wouldn't that be a nice addition for Kantronics next go 'round??
