This weekend, October 15-16, more than half a million Scouts and
their Guides throughout the World are expected on the air to
celebrate the 54th Scout Jamboree on the Air (JOTA). This annual
event is for Boy and Girl Scouts of all ages, including Brownies,
Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, Ambassadors and Venturers. The 2010 JOTA
attracted over 700,000 Scout participants at nearly 6,000 Amateur
Radio Stations. Scouting's JOTA is a great opportunity for
individual Radio Amateurs and local radio clubs to invite Scouts
into their shacks to get on the air.

For more information about JOTA, including how to participate,
frequencies, and JOTA rules, check out:
http://www.arrl.org/jamboree-on-the-air-jota.

And here's a link to the Boy Scouts of America information page
for JOTA, which includes an updated list of stations registering

Scouts operate from your station during JOTA, or by getting on
the air and having QSOs with the many JOTA stations calling "CQ
Jamboree" this weekend!
