Hello Jota Stations,
My name is Mike and I will be helping my Uncle Don, Alan, Brian, Dave.
and lost of other keen Hams from the Whangarei Amateur Radio Club to run
a Jota Station at their great clubrooms.
I am sending this message out a little earlier and hoping that some of you
other Jota Stations will be able to send some replies which may reach us
by Saturday morning so that we can let the scouts read your messages.
Some information about your location and how many scouts you expect to
call at your station would make interesting reading for our visiting
scouts.
Our clubrooms is located about 4 kilometers west of the centre of
Whangarei in Northland and is at a park called Heritage park.
Right next to Hertage park is another large park, Barge Park, this is
where all the scout troops will be camped The scouts will be able to walk
accross to the clubrooms here where we will have a couple of HF stations
operating along with local VHF and National system stations.
We will be using the Whangarei Club Call ZL1AM so if you hear us on air
give us a call please and tell us that you read this message on packet.
Dont call us at Barbacue time cos the guys here do really great barbie
meals and we have to eat while its hot.
There have been some big changes at these clubrooms in the last few weeks
I have been helping the blokes here to build 3 new rooms on to one side of
the existing building, the wall frames are up and the roof is on , so if
you listen carefully to our jota station you might hear some hammering and
sawing going on in the background.
We will look foreward to seeing a few messages.
