Hello Fellow Scouts,
We at Ringmer would like to extend greeting to one and all of you where ever
you might be.
We would also like to inform you that the group will be having a station on
the air over the JOTA weekend. We would like to make some contacts near or
far, so if you would like to make a sked with us we would be pleased to try
and make the link. The bands as you might well know are not in the best of
shape at the moment but hopefully they will improve for our weekend on the
air.
This is the 5th year we have held the station in the Scout hall here in the
village of Ringmer (5000 inhabitants) which is situated in the county of East
Sussex which is in the South of England. JO00BV is the locator and we are some
70Km due south of London, if you look at a map and find Brighton on the coast
and then move east to a the port of Newhaven, follow thr river to the town of
Lewes and look a little further east (4Km) you will find Rinmger. The station
gets better each year and not only do we have two HF stations but we have
Packet and slow and fast scan ATV. Some of the scouts are taking their
Communicator Badge so they will be sleeping over in the Scout hall and be
keeping a radio watch as well.
We would love to hear from any of you and please send either a message to us
via this mode to make a sked or just to send greetings to the Scouts, Guides
and others who are taking part in this years JOTA weekend.
Many thanks and have a great time yourselves and we look forward to hearing
from you.
Kind regards and 73 from Ringmer Scout Group (G0RSG) (for JOTA weekend GX0RSG)
Ps This is the home BBS (GB7ZZZ) but on Wednesday before the JOTA weekend
there will be a TPK station operational with the call GX0RSG so mail will be
forwarded from the BBS direct to the Scout hall.
