		    JAMBOREE ON THE AIR 1995

		TORFAEN SCOUTS AMATEUR RADIO CLUB

Torfaen (Welsh for "Rockbreaker") District is situated in the Eastern
Valley of Gwent, South Wales and covers an area of 38 square miles
bordering the Brecon Beacons National Park and the Usk Valley. The
District is divided by the Afon Lwyd (Grey River) which flows 15 miles
from its source at Blaenavon, over 1000 feet above sea level, through
Pontypool and Cwmbran, to join the River Usk at Newport.

Torfaen District Scouts consist of 14 individual Scout Units and has a
membership of approximately 1000 Beaver Scouts, Cub Scouts, Scouts,
Venture Scouts and Leaders.
Torfaen Scouts Amateur Radio Club (GW0UKT and GW7SIT) was formed in
November 1993 and is located within a Scout Group in Cwmbran.

We will be operational on HF and also be running a Packet station.
We will be operational over the complete weekend using the callsigns
GC0UKT for HF and GC7SIT for the Packet station. We would appreciate
packet messages sent to GC7SIT @ GB7IMB.#41.GBR.EU so that our Scouts
can exchange messages from all over the world. Many thanks and we hope
you have an excellent Jamboree on the air.
