Hi all,

I have talked to one scout leader in my area and he knows nothing of
JOTA. I would like to do something for this, to demonstrate ham
radio and spark some interest among the scouts. I thought that JOTA
was an event that was piggy-backed onto a Jamboree that was planned
way in advance. Or do hams have to plan with the scout leaders to
set a place and other details? I know it's the 19th and 20th
October, but the local scout leader has no info on a planned
gathering for these days.

Can someone please send me some general info on JOTA so that I can
have some more knowledge when talking to the scout leader? There
are several hams in our club that would be willing to help in this,
and it would be fun!

Thanks!
