An International Space Station Expedition 13 ARISS school contact has
been planned with participants at the Kuwait Scientific Center,
Salmiyah, Kuwait on Wednesday, 28 June, 2006. The event is scheduled to
begin at approximately 11:26 UTC.
The contact will be a telebridge between stations NA1SS and WH6PN. The
contact should be audible to anyone in the Hawaiian Islands. Interested
parties are invited to listen in on the 145.80 MHz downlink. Additional
listening options are listed below. The participants are expected to
conduct the conversation in English.
IRLP - Connect to the IRLP reflector 9010.
You may also connect via the IRLP Discovery website at
http://www.discoveryreflector.ca/listen.htm.
EchoLink - The audio from this contact will be available on the
EchoLink *AMSAT* (node 101 377) and the *JK1ZRW* (node 277 208)
conference rooms. Please connect to the *JK1ZRW* server to keep the load

The Scientific Center of Kuwait's (TSCK) mission is dedicated to the
advancement of the sciences and cultural heritage of Kuwait. The Center
promotes public awareness, knowledge of and commitment to the care and
conservation of the wildlife and ecosystems of the Arabian Gulf region.
The Center is a gift to the nation built by the Kuwait Foundation for
the Advancement of Sciences and was opened in April 2000. The Scientific
Center serves as an excellent center for environmental education in the
Arabian Gulf region. Visitors can observe natural habitats such as the
desert and marine life.
Participants at the Scientific Center of Kuwait will ask as many of the
following questions as time allows:
1. What are the effects of zero gravity on your body?
2. How far are you from Earth?
3. How do you feel when you are in space?
4. How is the weather up there?
5. Will there ever be human life on the moon?
6. What types of experiments are you running and how does micro-gravity
affect them?
7. How do the stars look like from the ISS?
8. What are your feelings while spacewalking?
9. How do you communicate in space?
10. What do you miss most while living on ISS?
11. What is the view like from the ISS?
12. Are there any smells inside the ISS?
13. What are you in charge of on the ISS?
14. Why and how did you become an astronaut?
15. What is your timetable on board up there?
16. How can you cope without gravity in space?
17. How do you use toilet in space? Where does waste go?
18. What is your favorite activity when you are in space?
19. What noises do you hear on board?
20. Does your body have a feeling for daytime and nighttime?
21. What do you feel during take off?
22. What kind of food do you eat on the ISS?
Please note, the amateur equipment on the ISS will be turned off prior
to the contact. It will be returned to regular amateur radio operations
as soon as possible afterwards. Information about the next scheduled

ARISS is an international educational outreach program partnering the
participating space agencies, NASA, Russian Space Agency, ESA, CNES,
JAXA, and CSA, with the AMSAT and IARU organizations from participating
countries.
ARISS offers an opportunity for students to experience the excitement of
Amateur Radio by talking directly with crewmembers on-board the
International Space Station. Teachers, parents and communities see,
first hand, how Amateur Radio and crewmembers on ISS can energize
youngsters' interest in science, technology, and learning. Further
