Bereavement
We wish to extend our sincerest sympathies to Breda EI0DJ
and Tony EI2AW on the death of Breda's mother Mrs. Kitty
O'Flynn who passed away peacefully on 10 December. May she
rest in peace.

IRTS Radio News via ATV
The IRTS radio news which is normally broadcast by South
Eastern Amateur Radio Group at 9.30 p.m. on Tuesday nights
via the Southern Ireland Repeater Network is now available
live via the EI8WDT, ATV (television)
repeater from Dungarvan, Co. Waterford.
A live video feed is available each Tuesday night at
www.ei8ffb.com (details and link to EI8FFB are
available on the SEARG web site at www.searg.com).

Christmas Island VK9XX
Christmas Island VK9XX completed there expedition last
weekend with almost 23,000 QSO confirmed in the log,
Congratulations to the 16 EI stations that made it through
the Hugh pile ups.
Top of the EI List were EI7BA with 7 bands worked, EI9JF &
EI9O with 4 bands worked Congratulations

Wicklow Town Club Formation
Lain EI5GN has received lots of interest in starting up a
radio club in Wicklow Town. There is a premises confirmed
which is virtually free of charge & it looks like the first
meeting is scheduled for January 14th at 20.00pm 2010. More
details will be available soon; Lain can be contacted at

South Dublin Radio Club
This year's South Dublin Radio Club Christmas Party will
take place next Tuesday the 15th of December.
The venue will be the same as last year, "The Morgue",
Tempelogue Village from 8.00 pm until late.
Members of other clubs and visitors are as usual very
welcome to this social event. Limited free food will be
available for paid-up members; visitors can
choose from the bar menu until 9.00 pm.

Joint Club Christmas Dinner
The North Dublin Radio Club, Fingal Radio Club and the
Howth Martello Radio Group are having a joint Christmas
dinner on Saturday 19th December. The restaurant in the
Coachman's Inn near Dublin Airport is the venue and the
meal will start at 8:30pm.
This is the second year that this joint dinner has been
organized. Last year's dinner was a great success and so
this year it has been decided to invite other amateurs,
SWLs and friends. Lapsed members of both clubs would be
particularly welcome.
Places are limited and early booking is recommended. If
interested please email tony@ei0mar.org as soon as possible
to make a reservation.

Industry News
Scott Robbins, W4PA, of Knoxville, Tennessee, has signed an
agreement to purchase The Vibroplex Company, Inc from
present owner Felton 'Mitch' Mitchell, W4OA, effective
December 21, 2009.
Vibroplex will move from its present location in Mobile,
Alabama to Knoxville, Tenn
Robbins - who has been employed with Ten-Tec Inc since 1995
(he has been Product Manager for Ten-Tec's Amateur Radio
equipment line since 1997) - will leave his position in
mid-December to take over full-time management and
ownership of Vibroplex during the last two weeks of
December, with a planned opening date of January 5, 2010.
Phone numbers email & contact addresses will remain in
continuous operation under the new ownership of Vibroplex

Desecheo K5D DVD available
The 'KP1-5 Project' have announced that the long
anticipated Desecheo K5D DVD entitled "so rare, so near,
yet so far" is now available. This DVD has been five months
in production.

3W6C CW OP Required
Experienced CW op needed for rare IOTA DXpedition
An international group of operators will be active as 3W6C
from Con Co Island (AS-185), Vietnam, between April 10-
18th, 2010.
The DXpedition has an opening for one additional
experienced CW operator; German language is not required as
this in an International group.

Rallies
Phoenix A.R.C
The Rally will be held as usual at Coolmine Community
School near Blanchardstown on Sunday 14th February
2010.Doors open from 9am to 2.30pm. Usual traders will be
present and to encourage a real Amateur Radio orientated
Rally bring and buy tables will be free of charge.

This is the first rally of the New Year and usually a very
enjoyable occasion. Refreshments and plenty of car parking
available.
