Mayo Rally
The Mayo Radio Experimenters Network Rally will be held on Sunday
November the 20th at the usual venue, the Belmont Hotel, Knock.
Doors open at 11:00 a.m. Bookings for accommodation should be made
directly with the hotel. The rate is 50 Euro per person with a
special all-in rate of 70 Euro for Bed & Breakfast and evening meal.
Traders confirmed are South East Communications, Long Communications
and Cellcom Ireland among others. The rally will also feature
exhibitions, demonstrations and presentations and Practical Wireless
Editor Rob Mannion will be at the rally. Of course, a major feature
of the rally will be the very popular Bring & Buy.
Traders or clubs wishing to book exhibition space at the Mayo Rally

Shannon Basin Radio Club AGM 2005
The Shannon Basin Radio club held its 2005 AGM in the Royal Hotel,
Roscommon on Wednesday the 2nd of November, and was well attended by
old and new members.
The outgoing committee members were thanked for their efforts over
the past year, and in return pledged their support for the new
committee.
The new committee members are as follows, Chairman: Brian Canning
EI8IU, Secretary: Fergus Millar EI6IB, Treasurer: Martin Scanlon
EI4IJ, QSL Manager: Michael White EI5EAB, Contest Manager: Noel
Mulvihill EI6HW and PRO: Pat O'Connor EI9HX.
The 2006 committee members hoped they would be able to continue with
the expansion of the club, in relation to new members, and greater
involvement in club outings, and it is hoped that the club will take
part in the first IOTA expedition to Inishere (Inis Oirr) in the
Aran Islands in 2006.
The Shannon Basin Radio Club want to thank the owners and staff of
Royal Hotel in Roscommon, for affording the use of their premises
for club meetings.

South Eastern Amateur Radio Group
This coming Thursday the 17th of November, Practical Wireless editor,
Rob Mannion G3XFD / EI5IW will visit the club. The venue for this
get-together which starts at 8.00 p.m. will be the Waterford Crystal
Social & Sports Centre, Cork Road, Waterford. All are welcome to
attend.

Radio Theory Examination
As already announced the next Radio Theory Examination will take
place on Wednesday January 18th at 2 p.m. in the Comreg offices.
Irish Life Centre, Lower Abbey St., Dublin 1. Those interested in
sitting this examination should contact Sean Nolan EI7CD by email to
"ei7cd at gofree dot indigo dot ie", telephone 01 2851599 or by
letter at QTHR. The entry fee is 50 Euro with a reduction for full-
time students. The closing date for entries is January the 6th 2006.
A sample question paper is available for downloading from the IRTS
website www.irts.ie or by post from Sean Donelan EI4GK at QTHR.
Iinformation about the examination are in the September/October
edition of Echo Ireland.

Jamboree On The Air
Groups who participated in JOTA are asked to submit reports to Sean
O'Suilleabhain EI3IP, National JOTA Organiser at Scouting Ireland,
Larch Hill, Dublin 16 or by E-mail to "jota at scouts dot ie". The
report form is downloadable from the Scouting Ireland Radio Scouting
Web page at www.scouts.ie/jota. All reports received will be used
in compiling the National Report for the WOSM in Geneva. Reports
should if possible include photographs and press cuttings.
