NEWS
Hi Ron,
Some news please for the next edition if you could oblige, its a bit
time conscious as you can see. Ron can you activate G4IPA for the below
contest, either segment if not I will, let me know.(Replied that I will be
happy to come up with GP4IPA if the antenna system is still in one piece SSB
Section ONLY XGG)
Happy New Year to all.
Affiliated Societies Team Contest
Dust off that equipment lets put IPA on the air, 5 for a CW team, 3 for
an SSB team, as many teams as we can muster. You do not have to member
of RSGB just a member of IPA and a UK call (unfortunately)
Short wave listener class as well, and Class B's can enter under
supervision of Class A.
Send me your copy logs, and I will sort out the entry.
CW on Sunday 11th January 1998 1400hrs to 1800hrs 3.510-3.590MHz
exchange:- RST + serial number + IPA (ie: 599/001/ipa)
SSB on Saturday 17th January 1998 1400hrs to 1800hrs 3.600-3.750MHz
exchange:- RS + serial number + International Police Association
Full rules September 1997 Radcom.
As my old Grandmother would say "Everything counts as the old lady pee'd
in the sea".
Major aerial problems this end as I speak, my 4:1 balun has gone
intermittent, removing that for a straight feed, has produced RF on the
rig, so now running a Marconi, until the gales and rain stops!!

If anyone else has any news please let either Nigel JOH Brian TRE or myself XGG
have it as it is a bit short on the ground at the moment.
I am hoping to invest in IBM Gold next week so that I will be able to speak
instead of having to use two fingers.
I also have a handicap at the moment as New Years Eve was rather a full and
late one followed by a long lunchtime session yesterday. Much of that black
liquid brewed in Dublin was consumed and at the moment the eyesight is not too
good.
I received the Newsletter via. the postal system today and was interested in
Brian's visit to the Guinness H.Q.If it did not involve two ferry
crossings(Very expensive) to get there from here I would be interested
myself. But as petrol is still œ1-30p a ga
