Hi Ron,
Just to give you a few lines:
I've been looking at anti-virus software for our firm's NT network. If
anyone has some "live" virii, I'd be very grateful for a copy to de-bomb
and then use to get past the gateways.
I've been right round the county doing a hardware audit and now am working
my way round again doing divisional PNC audits. Quite a task even in a
small county like Surrey. Still, it's good meeting up with old faces every
so often.
15 pay days to go, not that I'm counting.

Hi Ron, thought I would let you know that your newsletters are getting
through to the frozen North!. A slight hiccup with the presentation that
you mention, unfortunately the Chief Constable has had a request to go to
London on the 11th february and would not be available to attend the
presentation but he did offer to send another ACPO officer but if we want
him we have to change the date so now it will be on Tuesday 25th February
at 1900 in the conference room at Dewsbury Police Station. A little detail
about the event: Brian G4MNW's Widow, Kath will be presenting the trophy (
valued at œ3,000 ) to the Chief Constable, Keith Hellawell as he is
President of The West Yorkshire Police Athletics Association. The
Association have had the trophy engraved as the G4MNW award and it is
silver. This is the GBIPA G4MNW award but of course applicants do not get
the trophy but a certificate, the trophy will stay in our Shack at HQ.
So far I have been told that about 12 friends of Brians will be attending
the presentation as well as his Widow and son and daughter so it should be
a good do for West Yorks Police, IPA and IPARC. If the tests that Mike,
G3PGA and I are to conduct are successful we will have an HF station in
operation using G3WYP ( GX3WYP ) and hope to get the Chief Constable and
Kath on air to achieve the award so we can present them with certificates.
I am also this evening registering G3WYP @ GB7WRG and would appreciate as
many greetings messages as possible be sent from perhaps 11th February to
be collected from GB7WRG on the evening of 25th, any earlier would
probably result in the messages being deleated as the Sysop seems to only
keep messages for about 14 days max.
Trust Bobbies you must be joking! But we will have the Chairman of WYPAA
who is also our Police Federation Rep and was always getting to Brian when
he was Divisional Officer about federation matters but it shows the high
regard he had for Brian when he was the one who said WYPAA would pay for
the trophy for the force radio club and GBIPA.
So there you have it I hope we can get the station on air with perhaps a
net with a difference, would it not be good if some of our European
friends managed to get on as well.
