GW0GEI 25-Jul-2000 0020Z EU-124 in IOTA TEST - GW6J **
Hello All,
Confirmation that the Isle of Anglesey EU124 will be active this coming
weekend to try and work new friends and renew old acquaintances.
It is anticipated that the contest callsign will be GW6J.
The GB7ADX Cluster Support Group are hosting the event in partnership with
members of the Dragon ARS. We are honoured to have the able assistance
of Chris Tran GM3WOJ (Senior member of the North of Scotland Contest Group).
Whilst trying to remain competetive, the event will be used to introduce
radio club members to contesting, and to promote contesting practices and
proceedures, including the construction of a field-day type station.
Several years of amassed contesting experience will be drawn upon
and shared with up & coming OPS, whilst the OT's will no doubt be watching
each other to tune their skills!.
A barbecue and family get-together is planned after the contest, which will
help club members reflect on the event and provide an opportunity for the
social side of ham radio.
The effort will form part of an article for the radio club newsletter, and
will be followed by a presentation for a future meeting.
Good luck to all stations in the IOTA contest and we look forward to
working you on all bands/modes (80-10m = CW & SSB).
QSL route is via the buro to GW6J.
73 & CU in the pileup's......
Steve GW0GEI :-)
(Chairman of the GB7ADX DXcluster Support Group)
