(*) The Chinese have pointed out that the group of islands which include Ping
Island and Cheniu Island to the  south is administered from Lianyungang  City
in Jiangsu Province and are therefore part of that province and not Shandong.
The IOTA  Committee  has  in  the circumstances  amended  the  entry  in  the
Directory accordingly.
