9H - MALTA
A group of about fourteen from the Netherlands will be active
from Malta September 14 - October 6. Operation will be 40 -2
meters + WARC. An unusual callsign - 9HOVRZ - will be
used by the group. Individual ops will also be signing their
personal 9H callsigns. QSL contacts with 9HOVRZ via
PA7DX. QSL all others via the respective callsign.
FR5ZU/T - TROMELIN
Jack should be on the island the end of this week for one
month, working at the weather station. Hefll be operating SSB
with 100 watts and vertical antennas. Check these frequencies:
3773, 3795, 14256, 18145, 21205, 24945 and 28470. QSL via
JA8FCG.
KH4 - MIDWAY
Nao, JE7RJZ/WH2M and Koln, JP1JFG/N2IU will be signing
WH2M/KH4 and N2IU/KH4 September 23 - 29. Operation
will be 80 - 6 meters (possibly 160). QSL both via JA1EOD.
T3OXU - W. KIRIBATI
Gerard, PA3AXU will be signing this call September 4 - 10.
Following this operation he will move to Nauru. More info is

TROA - GABON
Igor, UA3DJY is on a business trip to Libreville and expects to
operate with this call until September 21. QSL via home call.
VK9 - NORFOLK
Wojtek, SP9PT and Jerzy, SP9EVP will be operating all
bands, CW/SSB/RTTY as VK9KNE and VK9KND
respectively from Norfolk October 20 - November 4. They
will also operate from Sydney as VK2BJR and VK2BJQ.
They will also operate from Borneo (9M6) but callsigns are not
known at this time.
YI1BGD - IRAQ
425 DX News reports that Rodger, GOTLC will be back in
Iraq the end of September. He expects to be active again from
the club station in Baghdad. Operation will be around 1400Z
on most bands + WARC. QSL all contacts with YI1BGD
operated by GOTLC via GOMMI -DO

QSLing - HK3JJH/HK0.
I am down to the last handful of direct requests and those will be out by
the end of this week. Requests continue to come in at the rate of 10 to 25
per day and they will be handled as quickly as I can get them done. I do
have a number of requests that are (in the words of Steve, KU9C) "in the
hospital" and will require further checking before they can be answered. I
am hopeful that they can be processed in the next week or so.
I continue to be amazed at what I receive in these requests. Requests for
contacts from several different operations in one envelope with only one
return envelope; requests arriving with no return envelope, no label, no
postage and then there are those arriving with only PARTIAL postage on the
return envelope and no funds to make up the difference. PLEASE FOLKS, you
should know what the postage rate is from the USA to your country -
60-cents to Canada and Mexico and 80-cents to all other countries.
The multiple operation requests will be handled after the direct requests
are finished and bureau cards after that.

Due to a lack of time with my family and business I must step down as
QSL manager for Ali, A61AJ. Joe Veras, N4QB, will now be handling the
QSLing chores. He will have all logs for all QSOs made by A61AJ.
Effective today all QSL requests need to go to N4QB. If you have
already sent your request to W3UR they will be answered by me. Direct
QSLs will go out this month. Bureau cards will go out by the end of the
year. Any requests sent to W3UR after today will be forwarded to N4QB.
The A61AJ Contest team will be very QRV over the next 3 months. Please
help spread the word to your friends, clubs, news letters and magazines
of this change.
