I like it.
But seriously if a bbs system:
(a)reissues my old bulletins from years ago without my permission
(b)sends them out under MY callsign
(c)and then pretends that I'm using that rogue bbs
Then I consider it downright piracy of my callsign.
As such the offending bbs should be ostracised by the rest of the packet
network until the system in question can prove itself to be run reliably.
Besides I have enough in my inbox without having to cope with people
sending me replies to years old bulletins long past their sell by date.
Consider this, I get dozens of replies to a years old bulletin arrive here.
It's a waste of my time answering them all - so shall I ignore and get a
reputation for being an ignorant so and so ?
I take pride in answering all my mail but there's only so much I can do
and priorities have to made - so it sure does help if I'm not having to
sort out replies to mouldy old bulletins reissued from rogue bbs's.
Think of it another way, how would you like it if a local newspaper reprinted
some old adverts from last year when you advertised your car/donkey/wife
or white goods in the second user section only to have the phone ringing
every five minutes and explaining to dozens of callers the advert is an
old one ?
Grrrr ;-)
