Yeah, I remember that unit - it was quite different and sounded great.
I wonder if (with modern technology), there isn't a single small piece of
equipment or electronic gadgetry or software, that could produce the same
effect of the Leslie ? Yes, some BOSS pedals, do have strange, nice, weird
and cool sounds, but I cannot recall a pedal (or a electronic piece that
sounds anywhere near similar to that of the Leslie.
If I remember correctly, it shook hands with the old Hammond M100 organ,
and to throw a spanner in the works.... didn't Procul Harem use a Hammond
M100 and a Leslie for their hit song "A Whiter Shade of Pale ? (gotcha
thinking hey) ? My wife has sequenced / programmed this midi file to a
fine art, and quite often, we get praised when we perform it.

Mmmmm - rings a bell, but I clearly remember thee ole Dynachord PA, and
with it came the Watkins Copy Cat (tape echo)- ooh those broken tapes -
Warren where's your blade ?
We use to carry spare tapes, but what mission to lug around for the sound
you got !
Dyna Dyna show me a leg, show me a leg, show me a leg. (That song, strikes
a chord with me) !

Hee hee - yep. (I think there was a spring-loaded arm that kept the
tension
of the tape against the heads).
I'm enjoying so much chatting on this subject, that I forgot I was hungry!
