However this means that from the 15/04/2005 that the system will be off
line for approx 7 - 10 days whilst the isdn systen is removed and a much
faster adsl line is installed.
Once the isdn is removed and a "normal" BT line re-installed they will
then give me a date for the adsl to be activated.
I have tried to get them to remove the isdn and upgrade the line to adsl
at the same time, but they couldnt issue an order for the adsl until the
line is converted from isdn to adsl..
Nothing but a pain in the backside as they should have been able to do
a same day activation, but as I am using a different isp they wont do it.
Q. How will these changes affect users and systems that Link to gb7fcr ?
A. The main problem is going to be that a NEW IP Number will be issued
and I will loose the 158.152.237.250 address that has been in use since
the system was first installed.
The other problem is that I can not give you the new address until
it is issued to me. :(
gb7fcr winpack users will need to check their winpack bbs.txt file
you will find this file located at c:\winpack\scripts\bbs.txt
some of you may have it set to conect to gb7fcr.co.uk:6300
if you have that set, then you can leave the system as it is
as I will update the domain name to reflect the new IP address
and you shouldnt have any problems connecting..
Winpack users can see the change you need to make from the 2 bbs.txt
files shown below..
